I’ve got a few bicycle accessories ranging from mini air pumps to neoprene winter shoe covers and I thought I would share my current top 10 cycling accessories. So here we go…

  1. Garmin Edge 305 GPS Bicycle Computer bundle This is a combined bike computerGiordana Jacket with cadence, heart rate monitor, that combines all the date and route tracking into one sleek package that also lets you connect it to your PC and track all of your training data.
  2. Topeak Micro Rocket AL MasterBlaster Aluminum Bike Pump This compact little pump has gotten me home a few times. It works. Its light. Its made well. It fits in my seat bag. What else can I say.
  3. Giordana Alpine Windtex Cycling Jacket (Red) I love this jacket on cool morning rides. My favorite thing about this jacket is that it is designed to fit when you are on the bike. It doesn’t ride up your back and the sleeves have thumb loops to keep them down even when you are in the drops.
  4. Kurt Kinetic Road Machine Fluid Trainer 2007 Model with Spinerval Workout DVD I’ve used several different trainers and this one is by far the best. It has the most road-like feel with its larger flywheel and fluid resistance unit. It uses super strong magnets to connect the wheel roller to the resistance turbine so the fluid is totally sealed. No O-Rings to leak oil on your carpet (it happens) I also had a small issue with the tensioning bolt on the resistance unit after I had used it countless hours in the off season and then lugged it around and warmed up on it before races for an entire summer. They shipped me a replacement bolt, spring, and knob. I got it in two days. They didn’t question me, or hassle me at all. True customer service.DeFeet Woolie Boolie
  5. Saris T-RAX Pro Folding 4 Bike Hitch Mount Rack (2-Inch Recevier) This rack gets my bikes where I want to ride securely and it folds down so I can still open the gate on the Durango
  6. Delta Leonardo Wall Mount Bike Rack This stylish little wall rack holds my road bike on the wall when it isn’t being used. It can hold other bikes too but muddy mountain bike tires on the wall in the house wouldn’t go over very well
  7. DeFeet Woolie Boolie Charcoal Cycling/Running Socks I love DeFeet wool socks and these are my favorites. They are thicker for cooler temp riding and they have all the wonderful properties of wool. They are the most comfortable socks I own.Nalgene Bottles
  8. Surley Jethro Tule 15mm Socket, Bottle Opener how can you go wrong with a tool that is both wrench and a bottle opener. I can take my wheels off and open a bottle of Schlafly Hefeweizen
  9. OTG On-The-Go 24 Oz. Nalgene Water Bottle - In Your Choice of Colors I have a couple of these bottles and they are perfect for the after ride recovery shake. I just dump in the mix, add watter, hold the rubber cap on the lid down, and shake. They have measuring marks on the sides too.
  10. Planet Bike Blinky “7″ 7-Led Rear Bicycle Light This LED tail light is very bright andPlanet Bike Blinky 7 Tail Light is very effective. I wouldn’t trust some tail lights with my safety at night but this one I do.

I agree on the Garmin 305HR+Cadence. I only wish I could afford to get one. As simple as I like to keep my fixedgear, I install one of these in a heartbeat.

Only thing I feel is missing on the list is some sort of good, ventilated, comfy helmet. But I that’s just personal prefrence. :-)

I thought about including my helmet on this list but I had already written a review about it some time ago so I didn’t put it on here. A helmet is probably the most important bicycle accessory you can have.
