I’ve been meaning to get a post up about this site for some time and I’m just now getting around to it.
Ride-Strong.com is a fairly new site but you wouldn’t know it by looking at it. They have a lot going on over there.
- T-Shirt Give Aways
- Colnago Carbon bike give away
- If you send them a shirt or some swag from your shop or site they will do a write up about it and then give away your logo stuff to readers. So you get double exposure.
- Great cycling articles as well.
Ride-Strong.com’s creator Tyler Ford left his job as a loan officer at a bank to build up RoadBikeRides.com and Ride-Strong.com. He also sponsors two Tucson Arizona cycling teams.
Tyler has done a great job building this site and I’m sure it will continue to grow. So head over there and try to win a bike, a shirt, or some other swag.

This just in….RoadBikeRides.com launched its beta today. So go check it out too and start adding your favorite road ride routes.
Matt at weRideBikes.com contacted me the other day to give me the heads up about his new site. weRideBikes.com is a new site that aims to be a community of cyclists sharing their own bike videos and helmet cam footage. There are quite a few videos on the site now and Matt has also started a blog where he shares how he setup up his helmet cam.
The site has a lot of potential. There is also an interactive world map that has the locations of where the videos were shot. You can click on the flags and it takes you to the videos.
I think Matt needs to get some more content going on his blog and get a cool looking logo to build his brand around and the site will continue to grow.
Everyone should go check out weRideBikes.com. If you have videos to share then join the site and post them for everyone to see.
Matt, good luck and I hope your site continues to grow.

So I had a bicycles and beer epiphany over the weekend. They go together so well and there are so many products that help it fit even better. Post ride libations are great and Guinness is rocket fuel.
So here is a run down of some of the bikes and booze fusion products that are out there today.
So everyone get out there and ride and share some cold ones with friends. You should also share your favorite post ride “recovery” drink in the comments.
The bike I remember the most from the past was a BMX style bike I got for my birthday when I was 10 or 11. It was black with red and white splatter paint (1992 or 93 maybe) from American Auto. Every time I would go with my dad to the auto parts store I would look at that bike and talk about it all the way home. I finally got it on my birthday.
For some reason I loved that bike. It wasn’t any particular brand that I can remember. It was heavy too. My cousins and I would build ramps in my uncles shop out of scraps of wood leftover from his cabinet business. I don’t think there was a time when I was 10-13 that I didn’t have road rash somewhere on my body from crashing that bike trying to jump something. I think I sold it at a garage sale for $15.00 when I was 15.
My girlfriend is always quick to tell me about “Sweet Thunder” the hand-me-down bicycle with the banana seat she inhereited from her sisters.
Just about everybody had a bike when they were a kid and it seems those bike stick in our memories. I’ll probably think about that bike when I’m 75 and won’t even remeber my singlespeed or my Rock Hopper unless their still hanging in the garage or something.
