Bicycle Entertainment

I spend a lot of time on the internet and I read alot of blogs so in the name of sharing a little link love and to give everyone a glimpse of what I’ve been reading here is a run down of some other bicycle related web sites I like.

Second Church of Gravity - This is a blog about bike racing in the Missouri area with a lot of personality and a lot to say. The language can be foul at times but it speaks the truth and I get a laugh out of almost every article. (Columbia, MO)

Bike Drool - This blog is by a guy named Daniel B. who rides the roads near my girlfriends parents house in St. Louis so I like to check it out. Some stuff is pretty random but over all not bad. There is also a pretty big list of other blogs on this site.

Tour of Missouri - OK I had to include this one (so what if its not really a blog they do post updates in a blog format though). If you are a cyclist in Missouri this has to be one of the biggest events of the year. I will be in St. Louis for the the finish of Saturdays stage and will be attending the circuit race on Sunday. I may call in sick to work or something to catch some of the other starts or finishes as well.

I received an e-mail from Carolyn Crooker from the Sedalia Convention and Visitors Bureau about this bicycle swap meet and antique bicycle show and parade. I figured it would be good to help spread the word. In keeping with my usual laziness here is the info just as she sent it to me.

Crank My Chain - Bicycle TV is one of my favorite stops on the Internet. I subscribe to his video pod casts as well. The creator of the site, Dan Kaufman, does an excelent job creating interesting videos about cycling in the Portland, Oregon area. The site is full of funny, entertaining, and interesting bicycle related news, videos, and racing. There is coverage of the entire cyclocross Cross Crusades as well as other cyclocross events from that area. There is video from Burning Man as well as the Portland Naked Bike Ride. The site also has some bicycle advocacy coverage as well. If only someday the mid-west could become as bike friendly. Its all good fun. Oh, and you have to check out the Zoo Bombers!!!!

I was “surfing the web” tonight, as I often do in the evenings, and came across this site for the  Bicycle Museum of America.  Its worth a look.  They have a really good time line and some good links to other bicycle related sites.
