Halloween Costume Bike Ride Pictures

Bicycle Rides No Comments

collage I am a bit disappointed that I didn’t get to take part in the Halloween Costume bike ride this past Sunday due to other commitments but ProVelo wrench and Henry Swank club member Norman Butler was kind enough to send me the pictures he had of this fine event.  I hope we can make it a bit bigger next year.  I have posted the pictures in the photo gallery or you can click the link here:  Halloween Costume Ride 2007

Don’t forget that the Perl River Bicycle Club Fall Foliage Ride will be held November 4th and you can find out more details here.

Halloween Costume Ride and Fall Foliage Tour

Bicycle Rides, Katy Trail No Comments

Some of the members of the Pearl River Bicycle Club have put together a couple of fallCyclists riding past trees with autumn foliage fun rides that are sure to become annual events.  So enough chatter…here are the ride details:

Halloween Costume Ride

The ride will be on the Katy Trail.  The ghoulish group of costumed cyclists will go down Sunday Oct. 28 at 1:00 p.m. They will start at the Katy Depot and ride west , through town, to Clover Dell, and back.  Just a little ride for fun.  I’m not sure of the mileage.  Costumes are strongly suggested just be sure you can still safely ride.  If you don’t have a costume at least bring a camera.  It should be a great time.

Fall Foliage Bicycle Tour

This ride will be held on Sunday Nov. 4 at 1:00 p.m., departing from the Sedalia Middle School. The ride will follow what has become known as the Alphabet Soup Loop:  Highway M-W-DD-KK-M-V-U.  It is about 42 miles and hilly.  Ebby will sag the ride with bananas, Gatorade, etc.  There are some excellent views on this route.  This will be a no drop ride, meaning if you ride slower we will not leave you out there on your own.

These are going to be great events.  The costume ride will be a Sedalia first and is sure to get some great laughs and plenty of attention I can’t wait post the pictures.

Bicycle Frenzy, Bicycle News, Bicycle Rides No Comments

There are a lot of things going on relating to bicycling around Sedalia right now and some new things coming to Bicycle Frenzy.Tour of Missouri Stage 6 Start/Finish

Local Cycling News

  • Matt and TJ have started marking the course for the proposed new trail additions to Radiant Trail at the Bothwell Lodge State Historic Site.
  • Ebby from ProVelo got an opportunity to speak with the governor and his aids about trying to get a stage of the Tour of Missouri to finish here in Sedalia.  Meg Liston and John Simmons also attended the meeting. Letters are being written and the process of applying has been started.
  • The Pearl River Bicycle Club is planning a Fall Foliage Ride coming up in the next few weeks.  This will simply be a mass group ride with some SAG support for an afternoon ride and gathering on some great country roads.  More details will follow as I get them.
  • The winter trainer rides at ProVelo will be starting soon.  These rides are open to anyone with a trainer that wants to get in shape or stay in shape over the winter and would like some company. Misery loves company so come join us for some stationary suffering.  I’ll post more details as we decide when those will start and what nights they will happen.

Bicycle Frenzy News

  • I am in the process of creating a new line of bicycle lifestyle apparel and cycling accessories.  I’m not ready to release the details but you may notice some additions to the site soon as I get things ready for the product launch.
  • I also have a contest planned that will start on Monday and will run all of next week. The winner will be announced on Friday.

So stay tuned for further details.  With all this fun stuff coming down the pipe you’ll want to subscribe to the RSS Feed or via E-Mail so you don’t miss anything.
