Travis has finalized most of the details of the 1st Annual PRBC Katy Trail Experience. The official registration form and itinerary for the ride can be downloaded below. I spoke with Travis Monday night at the PRBC planning meeting for the Sedalia Historic District Criterium and Otterville Road Race. Travis is excited for the event and is doing an excellent job getting things going for the club and for this event. He has secured sponsors and some schwag to give away to the participants so you will not wan to miss it for sure. For more details contact me via the contact page and visit the previous post about the ride here.

This information was provided by Travis DeMoss. He is coordinating this event. If you would like to participate you can contact me via the contact page or stop by Pro-Velo Cycle Sport for more details. I will post more details as I get them on the site as well. I really wanted to get this info out there as soon as I could so people could start planning since this will be a four day ride.
There is a small but eager group of people who are interested in riding the Katy Trail from end to end. The date is set for Sept 15 thru the 18. [click to continue…]
These past few weeks I have been busy with work and training for some up coming criterium races I’m going to ride in so I haven’t put together a good post. Tonight I thought I would post some information about some of the races and rides that I’m riding in or my friends are talking about going to.
- The 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month is the Time Trail ride that starts at the church parking lot next to Skyline Elementary School in Sedalia MO at 6 p.m. For directions and more ride details contact Ebby at Pro-Velo.
- On every other Wednesday night that there is not a Time Trial, there is a group ride that leaves from Pro-Velo at 6 p.m. and rides to Cole Camp Missouri and back. It is roughly a 40 mile ride with moderate to low hills. For more details also contact Ebby at Pro-Velo.
- Some of the local guys are planning a trip to ride the 16th Annual Flint Hills Death Ride July 28 and 29 in Madison Kansas. This is a roughly 70+ mile back county mountain bike ride that roughly half the people that start do not finish. It should be an awesome time. For more details about this ride check out the web site.
- The first race of the year that I will be riding in will be the Tour of Soulard Criterium in St. Louis July 15. You can pre-register for the race at www.2wheeltech.com
If you have ridden any of these rides or races before please leave a comment and let everyone know what you think about it. Also if you have other group rides you like post them as well.

Well National Bike to Work Week is almost over and I’ve only managed to ride home from work twice and to work once. For me that is not so good as I could usually do that on any given week. I was hoping to make the trip under my own power a few more times than that.
Here in Central Missouri, biking to work is not that common, but its growing. With gas prices up to $3.19 for the cheap gas today I think biking to work is a lot more appealing. Still a lot of people that could bike to work simply don’t ever try it. Its fun, its healthy, it saves the environment, and it doesn’t cost a dime. [click to continue…]
