Travis has finalized most of the details of the 1st Annual PRBC Katy Trail Experience. The official registration form and itinerary for the ride can be downloaded below. I spoke with Travis Monday night at the PRBC planning meeting for the Sedalia Historic District Criterium and Otterville Road Race. Travis is excited for the event and is doing an excellent job getting things going for the club and for this event. He has secured sponsors and some schwag to give away to the participants so you will not wan to miss it for sure. For more details contact me via the contact page and visit the previous post about the ride here.

I was on the STLbiking forums the other day and someone had posted a topic about a Missouri Bicycle Federation grassroots effort to continue the Katy trail to Kansas City.
The goal of the project is to complete the Katy Trail from Kansas to Illinois. This could have the effect of increasing cycling in and around the state by a large amount. People travel from all across the county to bike down one of the largest Rails-to-Trails projects in the country. Making it bigger and extending its reach into more communities only makes it better.
So, please go to http://mobikefed.org/CompleteTheKaty and complete the form to send a personalized e-mail to Ameren, Missouri Department of Natural Resources, and the Attorney General to let them know you to want the Katy Trail Completed.

This information was provided by Travis DeMoss. He is coordinating this event. If you would like to participate you can contact me via the contact page or stop by Pro-Velo Cycle Sport for more details. I will post more details as I get them on the site as well. I really wanted to get this info out there as soon as I could so people could start planning since this will be a four day ride.
There is a small but eager group of people who are interested in riding the Katy Trail from end to end. The date is set for Sept 15 thru the 18. [click to continue…]
